Significant Vegetation

Definition: a tree, shrub or other grouping of vegetation that exhibits some or all of the following qualities: historical: significant age of planting, association of plants with person(s), an event or significant period of time; aesthetic: planting which is widely accepted as being of outstanding aesthetic significance, which provides a unique contribution to the whole landscape; uniqueness of species: any planting of horticultural significance; outstanding size, canopy, floral display, foliage etc., or a quality example of its species including remnant native vegetation; environmental: significant association of planting with its surroundings i.e. provides important shade, windbreak, visual screen, stabilization, erosion control, drainage or relationship with native flora.
