Zero Energy Building (ZEB)

Definition: A Zero Energy Building generates enough renewable energy on site to equal or exceed its annual energy use. General term applied to a building with zero net energy consumption and zero carbon emissions annually. Zero energy buildings can be autonomous from the energy grid supply - energy is entirely produced on-site - or they can be grid-tied. Also known as net zero energy buildings.
