Adaptability

Definition: the capacity of a building or space to be changed so as to respond to changing social, technological and economic conditions, for example, the ability to support the needs of the existing occupier without requiring major or frequent refurbishment and upgrading; or the ease with which a building can support the requirements of different users from the same user group with minimal refurbishment; or the ease with which a building can be adapted to support the requirements of a new use type, for example a switch from commercial to leisure or residential
