Evacuated Tube Solar Collector

Definition: An evacuated tube solar collector consists of a number of parallel glass tubes which contain metal absorber tubes which attach to a fin. The void within the glass tube is a vacuum to reduce conductive and convective heat loss. Solar energy is collected within the absorber tubes and distributed to the building. These units are effective even during cloudy periods. They are typically used to heat water for domestic use inside the building and for heating systems.
