Israel Standard 5281 for buildings with reduced environmental impact (green buildings) was published by the Standards Institution of Israel in November 2005. Israel's green building standard is a voluntary standard which is awarded to new or renovated buildings that comply with specific requirements and criteria. The standard is targeted at architects, planners, developers and contractors.
