In 2001, Clif Bar formalized its commitment to environmental sustainability. They transitioned to organic ingredients, eliminated shrink-wrap (which saved 90,000 pounds of plastic and $400,000 annually), and invested in wind energy to offset fossil fuel usage.

The company's green-built facilities include a gym, rock climbing wall, yoga room, and massage rooms.
