At Camp Kernow we are passionate about working towards our vision of a world where people live in balance with their natural environment and have an inherent understanding of how best to preserve it for future generations. Our mission is to reconnect and engage children with the natural environment and inspire them to lead a more sustainable life.
Our outreach workshops offer exciting and original opportunities for children to gain first-hand, practical experience of renewable energy technologies and sustainable living techniques.
During residential camps, children can explore their energy use and environmental impact through a ‘virtual energy credit system’ - where every action has an associated energy value, either positive or negative. Credits are earned by taking part in discovery workshops, physical challenges and nature exploration and spent on their basic daily needs, such as washing and eating. Their challenge is to accumulate credits by understanding how to make choices which are best for the environment.
