Kathy Stout provides semi-precious stones to her caddisfly "farm" to create beautiful, colorful, natural stone cases for jewelery. It is unique, natural jewlery.
The caddisfly is the only aquatic insect that builds its own protective case out of substrates from its environment. Its larval form harvests small stones to create a sort of tubular case for itself. Kethy harvests the stone cases of the caddisfly to create earrings, necklaces and more for unique and beautiful designs.
