Solar Powering America was formed by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to coordinate their efforts in support of meeting the goals in the President’s Climate Action Plan. These goals include doubling U.S. renewable energy deployment between 2012 and 2020 and installing 100 megawatts of solar on federally-assisted housing.
