Building Energy Asset Score (USA)

Tool for assessing energy efficiency in commercial and residential buildings

The U.S. Department of Energy’s free, web-based Building Energy Asset Score (Asset Score) is a national standardized tool for assessing the physical and structural energy efficiency of commercial and multifamily residential buildings. The Asset Score generates a simple energy efficiency rating that enables comparison among buildings, and identifies opportunities to invest in energy efficiency upgrades. It is available for voluntary use and is 100% free to use.

The Asset Score National Leadership Network is a landmark partnership between DOE and leading companies, federal agencies, and state and local governments to expand usage and knowledge of the Asset Score, and to guide future improvements to the Asset Score program. The 21 participants of the Leadership Network were announced by the White House in January 2016.
