CertiSource is currently (as of Sept 2012) the only certification system is the world that uses DoubleHelix DNA technology to verify Chain-of-Custody documentation. Such documentation is a common feature of all timber certification systems but acknowledged to be difficult to manage and vulnerable to fraud. DNA technology reduces the need for physical audits, lowering costs whilst improving the effectiveness of the system. CertiSource is the equivalent of Verified Legal Compliance (VLC) and is widely recognized with positive independent assessments by CPET in the UK and ProForest. DoubleHelix is accredited to ISO/IEC Guide 65 as a product certification body. This means we are qualified to assess the legality of timber products against the standards of the CertiSource system in Indonesia.
