The free, open-standard Health Product Declaration was created to promote consistent reporting of product and material content and health hazard information for building products and materials. HPC serves as a base language for other interpretive tools. Products are assessed by manufacturers in-house using the GreenScreen List Translator (LT) to screen for hazardous Benchmark-1 chemicals. HPD increases transparency and accuracy by ensuring that both content and health information is reported consistently.
The HPD is a standard format for reporting product content and associated health information for building products and materials. HPD is free for all to use. The HPD’s ongoing development, maintenance, and evolution, is grounded in a transparent process that relies on input from both customers and producers and is overseen by industry volunteers of the non-profit Health Product Declaration Collaborative.
